Southampton Youth Orchestra returns to Thornden Hall with a thrilling and varied programme.
Two of our own talented students make their solo debuts with 'Danse Macabre' and the ever-popular 2nd movement of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto. The first half is completed by Coleridge-Taylor's 'Song of Hiawatha Overture' - largely forgotten today, but held in high regard early last century by composers including Stanford, Parry and Elgar.
Finishing the concert will be Mussorgsky's monumental 'Pictures at an Exhibition'
